Las Ventas, Madrid’s infamous bullring, promises “Spain” in the matter of a 45-minute tour. Throngs of tourists hop off buses for it. However, I didn’t intend to see inside it. I live here. Instead, I came to observe. With my camera, I focused on the older generation. Those that come here everyday to quietly admire Las Ventas with a silent, appreciative stroll.
Great photos! I especially love that last one; the man seems to be as pensive about and focused on the bullring as you are on him.
It’s my favorite of the group as well! Almost every older Spaniard I saw walking around the plaza seemed equally absorbed in what Las Ventas meant to him or her, despite the occasional throng of tourists.
