A primer to Turkish Wine, secrets of La Rioja, and more

DSC_0206I’ve been busy; lately, I’ve swirled, sipped, and delighted in copious cups of good wine (and as you can see above, tea).

All, I’m telling you, in the name of ahem, research.

From further afield, my insight:

A guide to Turkish wine, plus wineries to visit in Turkey’s enchanting land of fairy chimneys.

You must try it, a story about La Rioja’s almost-secret wine. Please post a comment if you’ve actually heard of it. I’m curious!

Forget sangria, follow Madrid’s emerging craft brewery trail.  Warning, it’s hoppy, stout-filled, and a bit surprising.

Handcrafted jewelry made with meteorites. Yes, meteorites. In Turkey’s artisan jewelry scene, this Parisian jeweler is anything but traditional.

P.S. Not passing through Cappadocia? You can purchase a piece of her unique creations online!

As always, drink responsibly & enjoy every sip.

  1. Wow, Anna, you have been busy lately! I’m a fan of wine and am sending myself this entry so that I’ll read some of your articles over the next few days. Keep the info coming!

    • Ah, thanks! If you take a trip to La Rioja, let me know. I can forward you the name of my Couchsurfing host in Logroño! He was an amazing guide, and he loves to host people who are passionate about vino!

      • Terrific tip, I’ll keep this in mind! La Rioja is one of the few places i haven’t yet made it to in Spain, but I hope to correct that this year.

  3. I don’t leave a response, but after reading through a great deal of remarks here A primer to Turkish Wine, secrets of La Rioja, and more | Cut the Kitsch. I do have a couple of questions for you if you do not mind. Could it be simply me or does it look as if like some of the remarks look like they are coming from brain dead people? 😛 And, if you are posting at other online social sites, I’d like to follow you.
Would you make a list of every one of all your social networking sites like your
twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?

    • Hi! Thanks for the compliment. 🙂 Your question comes at a perfect moment. I just created a new website! You can find my new online self at nomadicventuresmedia.com –At the bottom, you’ll see my social media profiles. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Hey there! I know this is kinda off topic however , I’d figured I’d ask.
Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest writing a blog article or vice-versa?
My website covers a lot of the same subjects as yours and I think we could greatly benefit from each other.
If you are interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you!
    Great blog by the way!

    • oh, I love that part of Turkey! Before I arrived, I wasn’t sure if I was going to spring for the cost of a hot air balloon ride, but I’m so glad I did! It’s such an unforgettable experience. Where in the world are you now?
