As I prepare for the next big step, or chapter, of my life, I’ve become enmeshed in the idea of branding. What does it mean? How can it be altered? According to the book I’m reading, Brand Thinking and Other Noble Pursuits, it’s just an idea, nothing more. It can’t be captured, it can’t be sold; it can only be molded in the brains of others. More often than not, it’s simply a feeling, especially if we’re talking about the branding of a service or product.
Here’s one sentence I found incredibly insightful, among a host of others. Those that want to pursue branding consultancy must be confident and creative, and according to the father of modern branding, they must be usually so.
